When travelling within the inner zone, return fares will no longer be available. Instead, four new single tickets options will be on offer, varying in price depending on travel distance:
- Three Stop Hop: travel for up to three stops for £1 for adults, 70p for young people and 50p for children
- three mile travel single ticket: £1.50 for adults, £1.05 for young people and 75p for children
- six mile travel single ticket: £2.50 for adults, £1.75 for young people and £1.25 for children
- over six mile travel single ticket: £3.50 for adults, £2.45 for young people and £1.75 children
First are retaining existing period tickets, such as day, week, month and annual tickets for travel within the new inner zone.
Single and return fares for journeys crossing the inner and outer zones are not affected by the new proposals, and period tickets covering both the inner and outer zone will continue to be available, offering discounts over regular fare prices.
The cost of travel for children and young people will be significantly reduced. Children aged between five and 15 will benefit from 50% discounts on single tickets within the inner zone, and 50% discount on period tickets in the inner and outer zones. Young people aged between 16 and 21 who can show a valid ID card, will get a 30% discount on single fares within the inner zone and all period tickets in the inner and outer zones.
First has organised a number of roadshows that people can visit across Bristol and South Gloucestershire to find out more about the changes.
