Students at Worle Community School will be treated to a BMX stunt show after winning the Travelwest School Travel Challenge

Seventeen secondary schools and colleges in the West of England took part in the challenge where students and staff logged their active and sustainable journeys online to win prizes. Worle won by logging 4,310 journeys by bike, bus, on foot and even by skateboard over the two-week challenge.

As a reward students will enjoy a BMX stunt show with professional BMX flatland rider Matti Hemmings. The BMX stunt show, described by many as breakdancing on a bike, will see the riders perform a unique display of ground tricks with all kinds of complex twists and spins.

Other North Somerset schools who took part in the challenge include Priory Community School (who came third), Hans Price Academy and North Somerset Enterprise Technology College.

The project has been funded by Travelwest working in partnership with Sustrans.
