The stretch between the junctions of Church Lane and Stancombe Lane will be affected. Access to homes and businesses will remain throughout, but other road users will need to follow the signed diversion route.
North Somerset Council contractor Skanska is carrying out the improvements that, alongside the resurfacing, will see signs and road markings refreshed, tidying of vegetation, and replacing and repairing ironwork, such as drain covers.
Councillor James Tonkin, North Somerset Council’s executive member with responsibility for transport, said: “We are continuing to invest in North Somerset’s roads to maintain the network for all users.
“We looked as options to reduce the impact of our maintenance work and have chosen to close the road overnight. This is the safest and quickest way to get this important work completed. Traffic monitoring shows us traffic levels are the lowest during these hours.
“Signs will be in place throughout and we will have traffic marshals on site to help those who live and work in the area access their properties.”
