    Buses replace late night trains between Oxford and Worcestershire Parkway / Worcester Shrub Hill from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 April

    Engineering work is taking place between Oxford and Evesham, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

    The 21:53 London Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill will call additionally at Didcot Parkway, and will then divert to run via Swindon / Cheltenham Spa (not calling) to Worcester Shrub Hill. A rail connection will run from Didcot Parkway to Oxford, and a replacement bus will run from Oxford to Worcester Shrub Hill.

    The 22:00 Hereford to London Paddington service will terminate at Worcester Shrub Hill, and restart at Oxford. A fast bus will run from Worcester Shrub Hill to Oxford to connect with the train. A stopping bus will run from Worcester Shrub Hill to Oxford, not connecting with the train.

    The 22:51 London Paddington to Worcestershire Parkway service will terminate at Oxford. A replacement bus will run from Oxford to Worcestershire Parkway.

    Buses replace early morning / late night trains between Reading and Guildford from Monday 15 to Friday 19 April

    Engineering work is taking place between Reading and Guildford, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

    Monday:

    The 05:00 Reading to Redhill will not run. You should instead travel on the 05:31 Reading to Gatwick service (see below).

    The 05:31 Reading to Gatwick Airport will depart earlier at 05:00, and will call additionally at Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Farnborough North, Ash, Wanborough, Shalford, Chilworth, Gomshall, Dorking West and Betchworth.

    The 08:23 Reading to Gatwick Airport (terminating at Redhill) will operate in 2 parts:

    • 08:23 Reading to Guildford
    • 09:22 Guildford to Redhill.

    You will need to change trains at Guildford. Rail connections are available towards Gatwick Airport.

    The 08:36 Redhill to Reading will operate in 2 parts:

    • 08:36 Redhill to Guildford.
    • 09:27 Guildford to Reading.

    You will need to change trains at Guildford.

    The 09:59 Gatwick Airport to Reading will start from Redhill. An earlier rail connection is available from Gatwick Airport to Redhill.

    Monday to Thursday:

    The 23:22 Gatwick Airport to Reading service will be replaced by a bus between Guildford and Reading.

    Tuesday to Friday:

    The 04:32 Reading to Gatwick Airport service will start from Guildford. An earlier replacement bus will run from Reading to Guildford.

    The 05:00 Reading to Redhill service will start from Guildford. An earlier replacement bus will run from Reading to Guildford.

    The 05:31 Reading to Gatwick Airport service will depart slightly earlier than usual, at 05:28, and will additionally call at Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Farnborough North and Ash. The train will run normally from Guildford and beyond.

    Monday, Tuesday and Thursday:

    The 19:15 Penzance to Bristol Temple Meads will divert between Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads(via Westbury – NOT calling). It will NOT call at Bridgwater, Highbridge & Burnham, Weston-super-Mare and Yatton. Road transport will operate from Taunton to Bridgwater, Highbridge & Burnham, Weston-super-Mare and Yatton, continuing to Bristol Temple Meads.

    The 20:30 London Paddington to Weston-super-Mare service will terminate at Bristol Temple Meads. Road transport will run from Bristol Temple Meads to Nailsea & Backwell, Yatton, Worle and Weston-super-Mare.

    The 21:08 Paignton to Bristol Temple Meads will terminate Taunton. Connects at Taunton into the diverted 22:44 Taunton to Bristol Temple Meads service (below).

    The 22:00 Bristol Temple Meads to Exeter St Davids will not call at Highbridge & Burnham or Bridgwater. It will arrive Taunton a few minutes earlier than normal. Normal timings departing Taunton and beyond. Road transport will operate from Weston-super-Mare to Highbridge & Burnham, Bridgwater and Taunton (connecting at Taunton into the train below).

    The 22:44 Taunton to Bristol Temple Meads will divert between Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads (via Westbury – not calling). It will not call at Bridgwater and stations to Bedminster. Road transport will operate from Taunton to Bristol Temple Meads, calling all stations.

    The 23:05 Bristol Temple Meads to Exeter St Davids will divert between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton (via Westbury – not calling). It will not call at Bedminster and stations to Bridgwater. Road transport will operate from Bristol Temple Meads to Taunton, calling all stations.

    The 23:06 Bristol Temple Meads to Westbury will operate a few minutes later than normal throughout.

    The 23:48 Bristol Temple Meads to Exeter St Davids will start from Taunton. Earlier road transport will run from Bristol Temple Meads, calling at all stations to Taunton to connect into the train. Also, road transport will run at 23:50 from Bristol Temple Meads setting down only at all stations (except Bedminster and Parson Street) to Exeter St Davids.

    A fault with the signalling system between Crewe and Wilmslow means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

    Alternative travel suggestions:

    Customers travelling to/from Manchester Piccadilly - Crewe are advised to board the next available Northern service to/from Stoke-on-Trent.

    Ticket acceptance is in place with East Midlands Railway and West Midlands Railway for Northern ticket holders on services between Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent in both directions.

    Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption to allow Northern customers to travel on any alternative service.

    Transport for Wales

    Rail replacement transport has been requested for Crewe, Manchester Piccadilly and Shrewsbury. More information will be available once this has been confirmed.
