    A landslip was found earlier this month in the Wellington area, and the line has been closed since then.

    Network Rail have been working to rectify the issue, and the line is expected to reopen with the planned train service on Friday 29 March.

    Amended service today, Thursday 28 March:

    Rail replacement transport is in operation, calling at all stations between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.

    A partial train service has now resumed, calling at all stations between Telford Central and Wolverhampton.

    Trains from Holyhead, Pwllheli and Machynlleth towards Birmingham will terminate at Shrewsbury. Trains from Birmingham towards Holyhead, Pwllheli and Machynlleth will start at Shrewsbury.

    Road transport will be provided between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.

    Until the end of today, you may use your ticket on the following services via any reasonable route at no extra cost:

    The 22:49 London Paddington to Swansea service will incur a few minutes additional journey time between Bristol Parkway and Newport.

    Buses replace late night trains between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads via Bath Spa from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 March

    Amended evening / morning trains between Reading and Gatwick Airport from Monday 25 to Friday 29 March

    Monday to Thursday:

    The 23:22 Gatwick Airport to Reading service will terminate at Redhill. A replacement bus will run from Redhill to Reading.

    The 23:33 Reading to Gatwick Airport service will terminate at Guildford. A replacement bus will run from Guildford to Gatwick Airport.

    Tuesday to Friday:

    The 04:32 Reading to Gatwick Airport service will depart Guildford and beyond later than usual, and will terminate at Redhill for rail connections towards Gatwick Airport.

    The 05:59 Gatwick Airport to Reading service will start at Redhill. Earlier rail connections are available between Gatwick Airport and Redhill.

    • 21:00 Greenford to West Ealing will extend to Ealing Broadway and London Paddington.

    Industrial action to affect CrossCountry from Thursday 4 April until Tuesday 9 April

    The ASLEF Union has announced that strike action will be taken by its members on Friday 5 April.

    The impact of this industrial action on Friday 5 April is still being assessed. Any alterations to service will be provided here once known.

    Further to the above, there is an ASLEF Union overtime ban from Thursday 4 April to Saturday 6 April, and from Monday 8 April to Tuesday 9 April, services may be subject to cancellations or alterations.

    Disruption between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour expected until 19:00

    A fault with the electric third rail between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised. This is expected until 19:00.

    Southern are no longer affected by this incident.

    Staff have been informed that there is fault with the electric third rail between Hilsea and Portsmouth. This means all lines are blocked between these stations.

    The 03:55 Oxford to Reading (departing 03:46) will use alternative platforms at Cholsey, Goring & Streatley and Tilehurst and will not call at Pangbourne. Pangbourne customers to travel by later services – no road transport provided.

    Friday only:

    The 20:48 London Paddington to Swansea will divert between Cardiff Central and Bridgend (via Ninian Park – not calling) departing Bridgend and beyond a few minutes later than normal.

    The 21:48 and 22:49 London Paddington to Swansea will divert between Cardiff Central and Bridgend (via Barry – not calling) arriving / departing Bridgend and beyond later than normal.

    Tuesday to Friday

    The 03:46 Swansea to London Paddington will depart earlier at 03:41, arriving / departing Neath, Port Talbot Parkway and Bridgend earlier than normal before being diverted between Bridgend and Cardiff Central (via Barry – not calling). Normal timings departing Cardiff Central and beyond.
