Following the re-opening of the junction 2 northbound exit slip road on the M32 on Saturday 21 March, we’d like to re-share the information about the weight and width restrictions on the road.
Only cars and motorcycles up to three tonnes in weight are permitted to use the slip road. A poster designed to help share the message has been created and can be downloaded for free from the M32 webpage.
All other vehicles should continue using the official diversion via Junction 1 and the southbound junction 2 slip road, or take an alternative route.
Chris Regan, Head of Service Delivery at Highways England, said: “We’d like to thank drivers for their support, and must stress that only cars and motorcycles up to three tonnes in weight should use the slip road. By keeping lighter vehicles only on the road, we can ensure no further damage is done to it which would lengthen the repairs and cause further disruption to drivers.”
The official diversion for vehicles over 3 tonnes or 2 metres in width is:
- Stay on the northbound M32, exit at junction 1 (Hambrook) and return to junction 2 (Eastville) via the southbound M32. The exit slip road on the southbound carriageway is unaffected.
If you have any concerns or issues regarding the closure of the M32 junction 2 northbound exit slip road please don’t hesitate to contact us, by calling our customer contact centre on 0300 123 5000.
Highways England also has a Facebook Page for the South West, which can be found at www.facebook.com/HighwaysSWest
Services Y2 and Y5 Outbound, services to divert from junction 3 (Law Hill) via Warwick Road, Stapleton Road, Fishponds where Y2 & Y5 resume normal route.
