Major Updates

Due to planned roadworks there will be a series of road closures taking place in the Bristol City Centre area as part of the Bristol Transport Strategy.

There’ll be new traffic priorities to restrict general through-traffic on:

  • Bristol Bridge, from all directions
  • Baldwin Street, between between St Augustine’s Parade and Marsh Street
  • Union Street, left turn onto Rupert Street

This page will provide travel information as the roadworks take place and will be updated to reflect the works that are taking place.

The routes and stops that are closed will be marked in RED the diversion route and alternative stops will be marked in BLUE on the map below.

Please note that due to social distancing ALL stops on the Horsefair and Penn Street are closed to ALL services. For information on this please click here.

Diversion for Friday 31st July, Saturday 1st August and Sunday 2nd August 2020

There will be no closures on Saturday 1st August or Sunday 2nd August.

On Friday 31st August there will be overnight closures (8pm-6am) on Victoria Street only. These are marked on the map below in RED.

Services 1,2,91 & 92

Towards Cribbs Causeway/ City Centre  will operate normal route as far as Victoria Street, then divert right into Counterslip, at the end turn left onto Temple Way, left on the Old Market roundabout on to lower Castle street, left onto Broad Weir and then resuming normal route at Newgate.

Towards south of the city will operate a normal route as far as Penn Street then will carry onwards along lower Castle Street, right on Old Market roundabout, Castle Street, Tower Hill, right into Passage Road onto Counterslip then left at lights to resume normal route on Victoria Street.

These diversion routes are marked on the map below in Blue.  We would advise all passengers to use the stops at the bottom of Victoria Street as alternative stops for the closed Bristol bridge stops. These are marked on the map below in BLUE.
