Many passengers will have already enjoyed better waiting facilities, thanks to our bus shelter upgrade programme transforming 150 stops in our region.
Cllr Hugh Malyan, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at North Somerset Council, said: “I’m delighted that works are starting to improve bus passenger facilities at Weston General Hospital. It is a key location for our residents, and we know that timely information and more comfortable shelters can make a real difference for the passenger experience. We hope these changes will encourage more people to choose public transport for their journeys to Weston General Hospital.”
Judith Hernandez del Pino, Hospital Director of Weston General Hospital, said: “We’re pleased to see these improvements completed at Weston General Hospital. The new transport hub makes it easier and more comfortable for patients, visitors, and staff to use public transport, supporting our commitment to accessibility and sustainability. We worked closely with North Somerset Council on the plans, and it’s great to see them come to life.”

The schemes are fully funded by the UK Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan and are part of North Somerset Council’s vision to create a more well-connected, popular, and sustainable public transport system.
