The new station at Ashley Down is part of a project to re-open the Henbury Line that runs from Bristol Temple Meads to Henbury. It is part of the West of England Combined Authority’s plans to significantly increase travel by rail and improve air quality in the region, as part of MetroWest phase 2.

The West of England Combined Authority and North Somerset Council have set up a new £2 million fund called WESTlocal, so communities can design and run their own public transport to better suit their needs.
