Local bus network guides delivered to households, including 50% off a day ticket
New local bus network guides are being delivered directly to households across North Somerset, providing clear route maps, timetables, information on local services, WESTlink and a 50% discount offer for a day’s unlimited travel.
These guides are being distributed thanks to the council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding. Each guide includes how to sign up for the half price day ticket, usually costing £7. Whether commuting to work, visiting friends, or exploring local attractions, this offer for North Somerset residents will make trying out the bus easier.
We want everyone in North Somerset to feel confident to try using local buses. These guides, combined with the 50% discount, make it simple and affordable for people to try bus travel or to plan journeys for the day with ease.

This is also a great opportunity to make use of the upgraded bus stops and shelters across parts of the network, thanks to government BSIP funds. They feature better seating, brighter lighting, and real-time information so passengers know exactly when their next bus will arrive.
The travel vouchers are part of a wider programme of works across North Somerset to improve bus travel. These include:
- keeping fares low
- working with bus operators to get more reliable journeys
- 150 upgraded bus stops and shelters
- new transport hubs, which include more comfortable seating and Real Time Information points to see when your next bus is arriving
- works to give buses priority at key congestion hotspots.
