Operational information
Wrington Minibus Society uses its fully accessible (and very distinctive!) minibus to offer a monthly schedule of trips as well as transport for those who cannot get to community events.
This includes journeys to shops, historical sites, exhibitions, theatres and other interesting destinations. We also provide transport for community initiatives such as lunch clubs and coffee mornings for the elderly, as well as for local societies and organisations, such as our bowls, drama, gardening and local history clubs. We schedule trips every day of the week throughout the year except public holidays.
We focus on supporting the elderly (50+), disabled and socially isolated, but anyone who lives in Wrington (including Redhill), Butcombe and Burrington parishes. While we focus on the over 50s, anyone can join our trips, though we do not provide Isofix seat belt fittings for child seats.
Our standard pick up points are Mother Hen in Broad Street and the Bowls Club (behind Wrington Rec Bar). However, we do pick up those with accessibility needs from home on request.

Booking trips
To book call the team or email your journey requirements, contact details can be found here.
We require all passengers to complete a form providing their name, address, phone number and the names of two emergency contacts. These details are kept on a password protected online database.
To view or find out about our scheduled trips you can either contact us directly, or:
- Sign up for our monthly e-newsletter via our email address
- Read our articles and monthly schedule in the Village Journal
- Read our posters in local shops.
Please note:
- Our monthly schedule is published a month in advance. Some trips are snapped up quickly, so we recommend booking ASAP
- Where the trip is to a venue where tickets must be pre-booked and paid for in advance (such as for theatre, exhibitions, heritage train trips etc) we ask for full payment up front, by BACS or cheque. This may often be months ahead to secure spaces
- Please be ready at the agreed pick-up point and time
- Please let us know of any accessibility needs in advance
- It is useful to know in advance if you have a Blue Badge, and to bring it with you as this means that we can park the minibus in designated disabled spaces
- We ask for payment of minibus fare in cash on the day.
