The Big Lemon will run the X10 Bus Service
North Somerset Council is pleased to confirm that The Big Lemon will continue to run the X10 bus service from Monday 22 July to Saturday 31 August, until a long-term solution is agreed.
On Friday 12 July, North Somerset Council was informed that Transpora bus services, the company which was contracted to operate the X10 service, had been suspended without prior notice.
Transpora operated several bus services across the West of England area, including the X10 route, which is a commercial service and the only route in North Somerset directly affected by this suspension.
The X10 service runs between Clevedon, Portishead, Cribbs Causeway, Filton and Southmead Hospital.
North Somerset Council immediately engaged in discussions with other bus operators to secure a longer-term solution for the X10 service and is pleased to announce that operator The Big Lemon has agreed today, Friday 19 July, to run the X10 service until the end of August 2024.
Council officers worked tirelessly on Friday to engage with other bus operators in the region to ensure that the X10 service continued to operate for passengers with minimal disruption. The X10 will run as normal from this weekend onwards, using the existing route and the same timetable.
The swift response and support of The Big Lemon is greatly appreciated and maintains continuity of the bus network for North Somerset passengers.
Further updates on the operation of the X10 and all our other services will be provided in the coming weeks.
