Where should new electric vehicle chargers be installed in residential areas?

That’s the question residents are being asked by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority. Currently there are around 580 publicly available charge points in the West of England.

To make electric vehicles a more practical choice, Mayor Dan Norris has secured £6.6 million from government to begin to create a regional charge point network, aiming to add over 1,000 new chargers. Now West of England locals are being asked to help identify where new charge points could have the greatest impact.

Using a revamped online mapping tool, residents can drop a pin at the location where they would like to see an electric vehicle charge point in their local area.

Whether it’s outside your home or workplace, shops, or near a local park, every suggestion will help build a more comprehensive picture of what is needed locally.

Suggestions made by 28 June will be reviewed and suitable locations taken forward, though residents can keep sending through their ideas beyond that date.
