Nailsea Available Transport

Nailsea Availables provides transport to medical appointments only, door to door. We transport patients to hospitals, dentists, opticians and doctors’ surgeries.

Operational information

Pick ups from Nailsea, Wraxall, Nailsea end of Tickenham and Backwell for vulnerable and elderly people who cannot access public transport services.

Drop offs can be done to all the central Bristol Hospitals, Southmead, South Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Aztec West, Emersons Green, Cossham and all local surgeries.

We operate 7 days a week including Bank Holidays if we have drivers willing to drive.

Membership and fees

No membership is required.

We have a scale of charges depending on distance, in line with HMRC guidelines. Charges range from £4.50 for a Nailsea and Backwell return journey, to £24 for an Emersons Green return journey.

Booking trips

Any local resident can contact Towerhouse, Brockway, Backwell medical centres or Tyntesfield medical centres and request Nailsea Available Transport (NAT) if they have no other means of getting to their medical appointment.

Bookings should be made as soon as a passenger receives their appointment. Drivers will not be allocated until the week before the appointment date. We do not accept bookings within less than 48 hours (not including weekends) notice. 

Drivers will make contact to arrange a pick up time at least 48 hours before the appointment. All journeys are return journeys. 

Wheelchair users must be accompanied by someone who is able to push the wheelchair, and the wheelchair must be collapsible.
