A series of upgrades at Worle Interchange will soon begin to improve accessibility, safety and the overall experience for bus passengers. Work is scheduled to start Monday 23 February 2026 and continue through to May, supported by funding from the Government.
A series of enhancements will modernise the transport hub and make it more welcoming, accessible, and environmentally friendly. These include:
For the safety of residents and contractors, Worle Interchange will be closed for the entire construction period. There will be clearly marked pedestrian and bus diversion routes in place throughout the works.

Cllr Hugh Malyan, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at North Somerset Council, said: “Throughout the works, we’re working closely with our bus operators to keep services running smoothly and minimise disruption for passengers. There will be people at the interchange on Monday 24 February, helping passengers find their new stop as well as posters and temporary floor spray signs, highlighting where the interim bus stops are. We appreciate residents’ patience while the works take place and look forward to delivering a much-improved interchange this spring.”
