Dott, a leading European shared mobility operator, today announced the deployment of a new and rebranded fleet of over 3,000 e-scooters and 1,000 e-bikes in the West of England region.

Over 4,000 new vehicles will be rolled out as part of a £5 million re-investment in the service. From now until the end of April, new e-scooters will be progressively deployed across Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire. New e-bikes will arrive in early April.

The launch brings Dott’s latest and best technology to the region, promising increased comfort, safety, and availability. This new fleet is designed to offer the “best ride yet”. As previously, Dott e-scooters and e-bikes are provided in partnership with the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority as part of the “WEST” transport network. The vehicles are engineered for the ultimate riding experience, featuring enhanced rider comfort, extended range, higher durability, and efficiency.

Key Highlights of the New Fleet:

  • For both new e-bikes and e-scooters: 2x battery capacity, ensuring longer rides and better overall availability across the region.
  • New e-bikes: Feature a faster unlock system (“just scan and go”), a lighter frame for increased comfort, an adjustable saddle for a perfect fit, and a stronger basket built for city use. The e-bikes are lighter, easier to use, and more accessible.
  • New e-scooters: Offer increased stability with a larger deck and a more secure phone holder that provides charge while riding.

Maxim Romain, Dott CEO & Cofounder, said:

We are incredibly proud to be re-investing in the service for our riders in the West of England region by deploying over 4,000 brand new vehicles. This new generation of e-bikes and e-scooters embodies the “best ride yet” philosophy, offering superior comfort, safety, and reliability. Our e-bikes are lighter, easier to use, and more accessible, ensuring the best possible riding experience as we head into the spring season.

Helen Godwin, Mayor of the West of England, said:

The West of England trial is home to Dott’s largest and best performing fleet in the UK. Thousands of local passengers will be the first anywhere in the country to be able to use the latest generation of brand-new vehicles. They will welcome this latest investment in transport improvements alongside changes to the app to do more to highlight parking bays.

Thanks to our Scoot Safe campaign with new fines and enforcement, we have seen a steep reduction in the number of e-bikes and e-scooters that are irresponsibly parked. This means tidier, safer streets for everyone. Around 99% of journeys now end in a proper parking place, with more new features being explored with Dott to continue to strike a better balance.

The introduction of the new fleet is supported by new parking bays delivered by authorities across the region and new in-app features including an improved parking experience. The app will highlight nearby parking bays with available space, and also include a photo and address of each bay making it easier for users to identify the correct location.

Dott encourages all local residents and visitors to try the new vehicles. Various pricing options are available to ride, including pricing per trip, passes, first ride free promotions as well as discounts for students, NHS workers and Universal Credit recipients.
