Dott launches new WEST SummerPass and Free Sunday Unlocks promo
Dott today announced the launch of a new special pass (the “WEST SummerPass”) and a “Free unlocks” promo on Sundays to make shared micro mobility even more accessible for residents of the West of England. These new offers arrive amidst a context of fuel price increases and crises, providing residents with affordable and sustainable transport options, especially as they enjoy the region’s new, upgraded fleet.
Affordable Summer Pricing
- The WEST SummerPass: A new special pass for regular users. It offers unlimited 20-minute rides for just £2.50 per trip, at a monthly price of £2.99. The more trips you take, the better the deal becomes, enabling commuters to ride more. The Pass is on a monthly rolling commitment, without auto-renew, to maximise flexibility.
- Special Sunday Promotion: Occasional users can benefit from Sundays without an unlock fee (£0), reducing the cost of an average trip by 27%.
This commitment to affordability follows Dott’s massive £5 million re-investment and fleet refresh in the West of England region, which included the deployment of over 4,000 new e-bikes and e-scooters. The West of England was the first UK market to receive these latest, most advanced vehicles, designed to offer the ‘best ride yet’. New Dott vehicles have 2x battery capacity for longer rides and new safety features like larger deck, double kickstand, lights, phone charger and bigger wheels on e-scooters.
Iqbal Ahmed, Dott Head of Public Policy in the UK, said:
“We are focused on providing a sustainable, high-quality, and reliable service that also remains affordable for our riders. Launching the WEST SummerPass and the free Sunday unlocks, especially given the current economic climate, complements our recent deployment of 4,000 brand new vehicles, ensuring that the best ride yet is also the most accessible ride for all users in the West of England.”
Helen Godwin, Mayor of the West of England, said:
“The WEST Summer Pass and Sunday offers will help people using e-bikes and e-scooters to get around more easily, following on from the huge investment by the operator in a new fleet of state-of-the-art vehicles. Like our regional £1 child bus fares freeze until 2029, Dott’s initiatives can help make sustainable and public transport more affordable.
“Over 99% of Dott journeys now end in a proper parking place – a real improvement on previous years – thanks to the Scoot Safe campaign launched by the Police & Crime Commissioner and I, and regional funding for local councils to install more marked bays. The new offers announced today, alongside existing discounts for NHS workers, will continue to help us strike a better balance during this trial.”
Dott’s hire schemes are the only legal way to ride an e-scooter in public in the West of England and it’s important that riders follow the rules to keep themselves and others safe. Don’t carry passengers, don’t ride on pavements unless cycling is permitted, and always park in designated areas. By doing so, we can keep our streets safer, tidier and more accessible for everyone.
