Essential tree works begin on the A370 Herluin Way, Weston
Work to cut back Willow trees on Herluin Way in Weston-super-Mare begins on Tuesday 15 July.
The trees, which will be cut back to ground level, are posing an unacceptable risk to road safety due to the possibility of falling branches.
The work, which will take three days to complete, will be carried out on the inbound side of Herluin Way for 700m from opposite Hutton Moor Leisure centre to outside Tim Hortons.
The coppicing will be carried out between 9.30am and 3.30pm and will involve a lane closure to complete the work safely.
The trees are posing an unacceptable risk to the safety of this busy route into Weston.

We will be cutting the trees back to ground level which will have a significant impact on the street scene but the Willows will grow back in time.
We would like to reassure people that this is routine maintenance and not the removal of the trees.
This is essential work and we would ask people to be patient and avoid using the road during 9.30am and 3.30pm if possible.
