Improvements to roads in Milton, Weston begin
A £200,000 scheme to improve Baytree, Milton and Locking Road in Weston begins on Monday 25 September.
The scheme, which will be carried out in phases, will improve the surface of the roads for the benefit of all users.
The work will be completed on the following dates:
Monday 25 September to Tuesday 26 September: Three way traffic lights will be in place between 8am and 5pm on Milton Road and Locking Road. A road closure will be in place for Baytree Road between 8am and 5pm.
Wednesday 27 September: A road closure will be in place on Milton Road between 8pm and 6am.
Thursday 28 September to Monday 2 October: A road closure will be in place on Locking Road (excluding the weekend) between 8pm and 6am.
Friday 29 September to Tuesday 3 October: A road closure will be in place on Baytree Road (excluding the weekend) between 8pm and 6am.
Tuesday 3 October: A road closure will be in place on Milton Road from 8pm until 6am.
Cllr Hannah Young, North Somerset Council’s executive member with responsibility for highways said: “This is an essential maintenance scheme that will improve the surface and prolong the life of the road.
“It will cause some disruption to these busy roads but we would urge people to be patient during the completion of the scheme.”
Cllr Catherine Gibbons, North Somerset Council’s ward member for Milton added: “I am delighted that this scheme is being completed. We have been working hard to ensure that these roads receive the essential maintenance that is needed.
We have been pressing for this and a little disruption is worth it to have our roads maintained.”
Advanced warning signs will be on display and traffic marshals will be on site to assist road users and to advise on diversion routes and road closures.
A letter will be delivered to affected residents.
