North Somerset Council launches ‘your new journey’ in Pill
North Somerset Council has launched an initiative, your new journey, designed to encourage residents and businesses to explore sustainable travel options.
The your new journey initiative started in Pill, running from mid-November through to mid-January. The programme combines community and business engagement with sharing tailored bus and bike information, alongside exclusive ticket offers. The initiative is funded entirely from funding given to North Somerset Council by the government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan with the aim of improving public transport for all.
As the initiative enters its next phase, keep an eye out for the your new journey team across North Somerset towns in the coming months. Giving you and your community the opportunity to learn more about sustainable travel options.
To encourage people to connect their bus trips with other ways of travelling, your new journey has also funded two bus-friendly folding e-bikes. Residents can try out commuting or travelling with an e-bike for free through our Borrow-a-Bike initiative at Bicycle Chain at 1A Aisecombe Way, Weston-super-Mare.
The your new journey team has already received a positive response from the Pill community. Activities so far have included central door-to-door visits, business outreach, and a successful pop-up stall at the Pill Market on Saturday 16 November.
Residents and business owners around the business park also had further engagement opportunities in December.
