The Council’s Development Control West Committee voted at its meeting on 12 July 2018 to grant planning permissions for the San Andreas roundabout, the Gipsy Patch Lane railway bridge, and the Gipsy Patch Lane highways works and Hatchet Road bus stops. The planning application documentation is available to view on South Gloucestershire Council’s website.

South Gloucestershire Council’s Executive Member for Planning, Transport & Strategic Environment made a decision on 30 November to not progress the North Way Bus Link element of the current CPME scheme and instead to progress an amendment to the CPME route. The report that led to this decision is available to view on the South Gloucestershire Council’s website.
The planning application for the North Way bus link has therefore been withdrawn. However the North Way link remains an aspiration of the Council for future delivery in order to improve sustainable transport options in the north fringe area.
We consulted on design proposals for the Cribbs Patchway MetroBus Extension from 27 November 2015 to 15 January 2016. The information and design proposals we consulted on are available below.
The consultation has now closed. We analysed the responses received and then published a report on the South Gloucestershire Council website with responses to key issues raised. The information and design proposals we consulted on are available below.
As part of developing plans for the scheme, we need to undertake survey and investigative works at various locations along the route. This survey work is to help towards the preparation of the Cribbs Patchway MetroBus Extension plans and does not signal the commencement of construction. We understand that surveys may cause disruption and disturbance to local residents and would like to apologise in advance and kindly ask for your patience whilst this work is taking place.
An important part of the project is the replacement of the railway bridge over Gipsy Patch Lane to permit improvements for MetroBus, buses, cyclists, pedestrians and other road users. Network Rail has completed a GRIP3 Option Selection Report that looked at options, which can be downloaded below.
The South Gloucestershire Planning, Transportation & Strategic Environment Major Schemes Sub-committee voted to progress bridge Option 5 at its meeting on 7 October 2015.

The route within the Cribbs Patchway New Neighbourhood will be designed and built by the developer, subject to planning consent from South Gloucestershire Council.
Improved cycling and walking routes will be part of the MetroBus Extension.
The Cribbs Patchway MetroBus Extension will cost about £35 million and will be funded through the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership.
Before funding is confirmed, we will be putting together a business case to ensure the project is value for money.
