Working with schools to encourage sustainable and active travel.
We actively work with schools to encourage sustainable and active travel to school, particularly at the time when children are moving between primary and secondary schools.
Our objectives are:
- To reduce traffic congestion during peak times, especially around the morning rush hour
- To reduce the impact of short car trips used on the school run
- To encourage parents and pupils to walk, cycle, scoot or use public transport for some of these journeys
- For pupils to benefit from increased physical activity as part of their daily routine
