We actively work with schools to encourage sustainable and active travel to school, particularly at the time when children are moving between primary and secondary schools.

Our objectives are:

• To reduce traffic congestion during peak times, especially around the morning rush hour
• To reduce the impact of short car trips used on the school run
• To encourage parents and pupils to walk, cycle, scoot or use public transport for some of these journeys
• For pupils to benefit from increased physical activity as part of their daily routine
