WESTPass

The smartcard enables the holder to travel for free on participating operators’ eligible services.

Application and delivery of your smartcard 

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that smartcards applied for will be delivered in a reasonable time, details can be found in the FAQs, we cannot accept responsibility or liability for any loss or damage which may occur from passes taking longer to arrive to arrive. In addition, bus operators’ systems are not within our control – but we will make every effort to assist customers in the event of technical issue affecting your WESTpass smartcard 

Using your smartcard 

The card must be presented to the driver or electronic ticketing equipment on the bus at the start of each journey. The driver may inspect, refuse use of, or retain the card if he or she has reasonable cause to believe it is being used improperly.

Smartcard/Ticket expiry

Smartcards will be accepted on participating operators’ eligible services until to 23:59pm on the expiry date printed on the card  

Refunds

WESTfares provide free travel for stated period – the West of England Combined Authority and participating bus operators/services are not obliged to give a refund for any separate fare paid by the holder due to loss, theft or withdrawal of this card.

Operation of the scheme 

We reserve the right to withdraw individual smartcards and tickets any time. 
The terms and conditions of the scheme may be amended at any time, without prior notice, at our discretion
