Residents in the West of England can now hire e-scooters as part of a government trial. Hop-on hop-off e-scooters are available in Bristol, Bath and in parts of South Gloucestershire.
To build a more inclusive and connected city, Bristol must tackle the challenges surrounding travel. With high levels of traffic congestion and harmful air pollution levels, there’s a sense of urgency to tackle these issues to improve public health.
Local Authorities in the West of England are working in partnership with SevernNet to develop a joint Transport Strategy for movement in the Portbury, Avonmouth and Severnside (PAS) area, helping to ensure it develops to the benefit of the West of England, supporting businesses, employees, residents, freight movement and other associated access requirements.
Works will take place to enable a new school to be built in Lockleaze.
The bus strategy considers options to improve the bus network and set out how further growth in bus usage can be encouraged, including proposals to create better, faster, more reliable and more accessible services across Bath & north East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan is a detailed plan that identifies that over £400m of investment is needed and will be sought and channelled through the West of England Combined Authority.
