How we handle data collected via the Active Travel Champion project.

To provide this service, we will need to collect your name, business name, business address, business email address, business telephone number, number of employees in the business and your role in the business. We are collecting this data because we need to be able to contact you as part of the active travel champions project, pass this on to the cycle training provider in your unitary authority.

How long we will keep your data for:

The period of time that we will hold this data for will be determined by the timeframe required by our partner university to analyse the findings following the completion of the current scheme (funded by Department for Transport Access funding) in March 2025. After this your information will be deleted or archived.

Why we need to collect your data:

We need to collect your data in order to work with you as part of the active travel champions project. We need to be able to contact you to deliver the offers and services we provide.

Your data will be shared with the local authority your business is based in:

  • Bath and North Somerset Council
  • Bristol City Council
  • North Somerset Council
  • South Gloucestershire Council

In addition, your data will be anonymised prior to being shared with the University of the West of England (UWE) so that they can analyse the success of the project.
